Since the introduction of video advertising online many people have questioned whether this form of marketing is an effective tool for them to use or not. In research DoubleClick performed they are now clearly indicating that the use of videos as a form of online advertising can prove extremely effective.
During the research carried out by DoubleClick they have found that audiences will interact much more with video ads than image ads. They will actually click the play button for such ads more than they would on the conventional image ones.
Also when performing this research it was found that most of the video adverts people view online they will actually allow to play two thirds of the way through before they move away from them. Although many videos were not viewed to the very end plenty of people chose to click on the link so that they could discover more about a particular service or product was much higher compared to image ads.
The research that DoubleClick carried out involved more than 300 online video advertising campaigns that have been placed by more than 130 advertisers during a four month period. So as you can see from above the results clearly show that video advertising is effective.
